PHILOSOPHY

Form may follow function, but form is not a guarantor of beauty. We create beautiful interiors. Lush, and highly personal, our interiors are representative of our client's interests, personality, and lifestyle.  And, we create design solutions that function intelligently. We believe the best designs start with planning that maximizes a client's budget with the best possible use of space. From this foundation we work closely with clients to enable and refine their creative ideas. We incorporate that synergy into a finished space that offers every necessary comfort and convenience. Our designs are tailored to each client's needs, and guarantee superb traffic flow, adequate and convenient storage, and a thoughtful manipulation of aesthetic elements -- shape, scale, texture, color, light. The result is often a very unique space -- a space that is harmonious, elegant, and visually gratifying; a personal base, as well as an oasis, from which to enjoy a full and rewarding life.

 BIOGRAPHY

A native of New York, designer Lon Morris traces his fascination with interior spaces and the way we inhabit them, back to his early childhood. A prodigious young artist,  he filled his free time  with floor plans and drawings of architecture and furnishings. After a long career in advertising and public relations, Morris took  another look at the fascination of his youth, and decided to make a change. "Life is too short not to spend it doing something you absolutely love,"  he says.  He was accepted into the Interior Design program at F.I.T. in New York City, and upon completion he immediately launched his own firm.  In a short time he has completed and embarked upon an impressive roster of projects, including a duplex apartment in Manhattan's fabled Dakota, apartments in the Pierre and Ritz Carlton Hotels, houses in The Hamptons and Palm Beach, and an office in Rockefeller Center.

Morris credits much of his hands-on experience to his parapetetic nature -- he has moved no fewer than 17 times. "I am constantly falling in love with new spaces, and with each one new furniture, new colors, new objects, new ideas,"  he says.  His own residences became the trial and error proving ground for his design philosopny, long before he started formal training. An inveterate collector over the years, his clients often turn to him for his knowledge of, and cultivated eye for, art and antiques when assembling their own collections.

WIth his belief that one's home should be a very personal expression of one's own style and interests, Morris eschews a packaged "look" in favor of interiors which are as unique and individual as his clients.
